WSN 2026 conference planner — an unofficial attendee tool for the Western Society of Naturalists 2026 meeting.

Without an account

The planner works entirely in your browser. Your starred talks, notes, and settings are saved in this browser's local storage and are sent nowhere. Clearing the browser's site data deletes them, and a private or incognito window discards them when it closes.

Share links and exports

Everything in My schedule's export bar is made on your device, and goes only where you send it:

If you sign in (optional)

Signing in — with Google or a one-time email code — exists so your picks and notes can follow you between devices. We store:

When you un-star an item, the planner records it as removed rather than deleting the entry, so the removal reaches your other devices (a note you empty is kept the same way, as an empty entry); those entries stay with your account until the account is deleted. Database rules stop anyone else from reading or changing your picks and notes through the planner, so no other attendee can see them. The site's administrator can technically reach the database in order to run it.

Google sign-in passes along your basic Google profile (such as your profile-picture link), which the sign-in service keeps with your account; the planner itself uses only your email and name, and nothing else is read from your Google account. Signing out stops syncing and deletes nothing: this browser keeps its copy.

If you create a shareable card

The card (My card, once you are signed in) is optional. It shows your name, affiliation and position, plus only the contact details you mark Visible; it is visible only to people who have its link or QR code, and only while you keep it published. You can regenerate its link, unpublish it or delete it at any time. An uploaded CV is stored privately and reachable only through your published card, while the card shows it. CV files are deleted when you replace or remove your CV, delete your card or delete your account; if a removal ever fails, the old file stays stored privately where no card can show it, and an email to the address below gets it deleted.

If someone saves your published card to their WSN contacts, they keep a copy of what it showed at that moment (without your CV), even if you later unpublish or delete the card. Deleting your account removes the copies saved in other attendees' WSN contacts, but not any vCard or CSV file they already downloaded.

What we don't do

No advertising, no sale or sharing of data with third parties, no tracking across other sites. Accounts and data are hosted on Supabase; sign-in emails are delivered via a transactional email provider. The site is served by GitHub Pages and loads its sign-in library from the jsDelivr CDN; like any web host they see ordinary request details such as your IP address, but none of your picks or notes. At most, the site may keep privacy-friendly aggregate visit counts that identify no one.

The Send feedback about the planner link opens a Google Form, which runs outside the planner on Google's service: it is anonymous unless you leave an email address, and your answers go to the planner's developer, not to WSN.

Deleting your account

Signed in, open My card and choose Delete account (the button appears once you have saved a card). It immediately and permanently deletes your account and everything stored with it: your picks, notes, card and saved contacts, and the copies of your card saved in other attendees' WSN contacts (not any vCard or CSV file they already downloaded). Your CV file is removed too, as described above for every CV removal. This browser keeps its own copy of your picks and notes until you clear this site's data.

Or email the address below — for example if you never made a card — and your account and everything synced with it will be deleted promptly.
