My name is Nicolas Rivas but I tend to just go by Nico. This Site is Under Construction but in the meantime it is still up and running. Learn more about me, some of my previous and ongoing research or just look at some photos!

I’m a Ph.D. candidate at Florida International University studying how Caribbean coral reefs respond to change. My research combines photogrammetry, functional ecology, and population modeling to track reef communities after the 2022 Diadema antillarum die-off. Before that, I worked on coral restoration for my M.S. at the University of Miami.
